Why do people use hair extensions?
Hair extensions are used to increase fullness or add length to a person’s natural hair. In addition to everyday wear, extensions are great for weddings and special occasions.

What type of hair is used?
I use the best quality hair available, 100% Remi (or Remy) hair from Europe, which means that each hair has been hand-picked strand by strand to ensure all cuticles are aligned in the same direction so no tangling occurs.

What is the purpose of the consultation?
During the consultation, I will examine your current hair color, texture and length to determine the best technique to use. The consultation lasts 15 to 20 minutes, during which I will match your hair color, show you how the attachment is done and give you an exact price quote.

How long does it take for the hair to arrive?
The hair is ordered after the consultation and arrives in 2 or 3 business days.

How long does the attachment take?
It takes from 2 to 3 hours, depending on the amount of hair required.

How is Lots of Locks able to charge a fraction of that?
I’m able to purchase the hair direct and use my own technique, which means less money goes to a middleman and more money goes back in your pocket. Additionally, much of the expense of extensions today comes from the hair stylist’s cost of renting a space in an upscale salon — another area where I’m able to save you money!

What payment types do you accept?
We accept cash, check, and major credit and debit cards, including VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Will the hair extensions damage my hair?
Unlike other processes you may have seen or read about, my technique does not use glue or heated bonding during the application process. This means that your extensions can be removed at any time with no damage at all to your natural hair.

What maintenance is required?
The attachment lasts anywhere from 2 to 3 months, after which they must be re-tightened. Keep in mind, however, that you can re-use the hair, so you only need to purchase that once.

Are the hair extensions noticeable within my natural hair?
A color ring is used to custom match the color to your natural hair using up to three different colors. The extensions are sewn to a thin section of your natural hair instead of onto corn rows, which can be very bulky and difficult to cover up. Because of this unique application process, Lots of Locks’ extensions are virtually unnoticeable even when someone touches your hair.

How do I care for the hair extensions?
All you’ll need is a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner as well as a spray leave-in detangler or conditioner. It’s also a good idea to brush your hair at least once a day to avoid matting.

Can I go swimming in the ocean or a pool?
Absolutely! Just make sure to put your hair in a low pony tail and try to bring a leave-in conditioner with you to prevent tangling.

Is there any pain or discomfort associated with hair extensions?
Usually the first night is a little uncomfortable—you may feel like you’ve had your hair in a tight ponytail all day. After the first night you won’t even notice they’re there!
